Last weekend, the trophy wife and I zipped to Seeley Lake for the Snow Joke Half-Marathon.  North of Avon, it was below zero, deathly calm and the evening twilight made the foothills bluish-gray.  Fresh snow hid every trace of life—no rabbit, elk, deer, or coyote tracks could be seen across Montana’s hinterlands.  All the cattle in the valley huddled
